Information about Tugboat Titirangi
Tugboat Titirangi is a versatile Azimuth Stern Drive (ASD) tug with a 26-ton bollard pull, designed for efficient harbor assistance, barge handling, and nearshore marine support. Originally built in Japan, Titirangi spent the majority of her working life as a harbor tug in Eastland Port, New Zealand, before being reflagged to Vanuatu and joining the Ocean Logistics fleet.
Now based in Port Vila, she operates as one of two primary harbor tugs alongside Huria Matenga. Powered by twin Niigata 6L22LX main engines delivering 1,650 HP, she reaches a top speed of 12.85 knots. With a fuel capacity of 23,000 liters and a low fuel consumption rate of just 125L per hour, Titirangi is a highly economical option for short- to mid-range marine operations.
In addition to port assist duties, she is frequently used for barge operations, dredging support, and port infrastructure works within Port Vila. Her compact design, excellent maneuverability, and proven reliability make her an ideal tug for coastal and harbor operations throughout the
South Pacific.
