Betsy Ross Rescue_1

Project Overview

Location: Vanuatu

Services: Salvage, Disaster Recovery

The vessel Betsy Ross ran aground on the reef near Malapoa at the entrance of Fatumaru Bay. Tugboat Arnhem initially responded, but due to Betsy Ross’s substantial weight, Arnhem required assistance from Tugboat Warringa. The two tugboats successfully worked in tandem to dislodge Betsy Ross from the reef and safely return her to anchor.

Ocean Logistics Limited and Ocean Environmental Solutions collaborated to provide port and harbour support for the salvage operation of Betsy Ross and to mitigate potential environmental damage resulting from an oil spill.
