Services: Maritime Construction, Project Support
Client: Defence Australia
Ocean Logistics Limited’s shoreside team is proud to be contributing to a major marine civil construction project in partnership with Defence Australia. Significant progress has been made in the rehabilitation and upgrade of the Mala Base Police Maritime Wharf, focusing on both structural repairs and critical infrastructure enhancements.
Our scope of work includes:
🔹 Structural Repairs & Electrical Upgrades – Damaged precast panels are being restored, and new, larger electrical cables are being installed throughout the base and wharf. This includes the addition of COPE points to enable shore power supply for the RVS Sokomanu and RVS Takuare.
🔹 Boat Ramp Upgrade – A newly upgraded ramp now allows for safer and more efficient launch and recovery of the Police RHIB at all tide levels.
🔹 Safety & Functionality Enhancements – New vehicle bollards and essential wharf furniture have been installed to improve operational safety.
🔹 Berthing Improvements – Modifications are being made to accommodate the safe berthing of RVS Takuare on the north side of the wharf.
🔹 Fendering System Upgrades – The south side of the wharf is being reinforced to better support the RVS Sokomanu during berthing.
🔹 New Landing Craft Ramp – A dedicated ramp is under construction to support the efficient loading, maintenance, and management of RVS Sokomanu while berthed.
This project, delivered under contract with the Australian Defence Force (ADF), reflects our team’s commitment to quality marine infrastructure and maritime capability development in the region.
We take great pride in playing a key role in this important initiative.
