Mala Base Wharf Repair and Fender Upgrade for RVS Sokomanu | Vanuatu

The dredging operation at Mala Base Wharf played a crucial role in the preparations for the imminent arrival of the new RVS Sokomanu, which was completed last June 2024. Visual documentation of the operation showcases the dedicated work of our robust 38-ton long-reach excavator positioned on one of Ocean Logistics Limited’s 1000-ton steel dumb barges.

Our barge, outfitted with hydraulic spud keepers to ensure stability, provides a secure platform for the excavator, enabling effective clearance and deepening of the berth pocket. This pivotal dredging endeavour is aimed at readying the wharf to safely accommodate the RVS Sokomanu, further enhancing our maritime capabilities and readiness.
