Project Overview

Location: Vanuatu

On the 19th of August 2019, the crew of Ocean Logistics Limited‘s Tug Warringa received an urgent distress call at 2 am for assistance from their fellow seafarers onboard MV Aganda. Responding promptly to the call, the crew assembled at the tugboat from diverse locations, such as Port Vila and Siviri village, expeditiously departing within 1 hour and 45 minutes.

Captain Kembro Manderson from the Office of the Maritime Regulator was present on Tug Warringa to oversee the rescue operation. Subsequently, MV Aganda was successfully reached at 11 am and towed back to Port Vila, ensuring the safety of all crew and passengers.

At this time, the crew of Tug Warringa had recently returned from a 4-month overseas assignment in the Solomon Islands. Their quick and selfless response to the distress call reflects their unwavering dedication to maritime duty, despite the personal sacrifices involved in leaving their families for sea duty once more.
